Wildcats Place Four in Finals at Clemson Tiger Qualifiers
The Wildcats made an abrupt change in direction late this week for their late qualification meet, shifting destinations to the Clemson Tiger Qualifier after the Albany State event was cancelled. The Wildcats finished off the MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in a big way with program milestones and multiple top-level performances. The Wildcats got a big boost on the second day of competition at the MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Friday at Irwin Belk Track. B-CU not only doubled up in scoring performances in the decathlon, but collected a win in the women's 5k and set the stage for Saturday with four qualifications for event finals. Competition began on Thursday at North Carolina A&T's Irwin Belk Track on the opening day of the 2012 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Wildcats raced out to a lead in the multi-events and logged one finals qualification, while putting in a pair of scoring finishes in the field events to get the meet started. Leading up to the opening events of the 2012 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, officials from the conference office recognized 131 individual student-athletes from across the MEAC who are not only getting it done in their events, but also in the classroom.
