NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Wildcat Track & Field Indoor season creeps closer to the championships as the Wildcats competed this weekend at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center. B-CU turned in several top performances against the elite field with athletes from every major conference, including one first-place finish for Analisa Austin in the 60m Dash.

Analisa Austin built on her already strong indoor season with a first-place nod in the 60m Dash, crossing the line in 7.67 seconds, making the Wildcats' top performance of the meet.

Also on the women's side of the meet, Ryan Sanders finished 11th in the long jump, with a distance of 5.62 m, tying her season's best.

Ron Danielle Williams finished in 12th in the women's shot put, with a distance of 13.92 m.

In the women's 4 x 400 m Relay, Bethune-Cookman finished in the top ten (on the relay composed of Nickesha Williams, Asia Henry, Vanderlyn Watts, and Crystal Bardge), snagging a ninth-place finish with a time of 3:56.57, and making a new season-best time for the group.

The men's team was led by the efforts of B-CU's sprinters, with Chris Herring finishing fifth in the 60m Dash, crossing the finish line in 7.05 seconds. However, just a hair behind him, Chris Jackson was sixth in 7.06, and Martin Embry came in tenth in 7.09.

The men also performed well in the 200m Dash, with Martin Embry finishing seventh in 22.31 seconds, while Chris Jackson finished 15th at 22.65 seconds.

In the men's triple jump, Kenson Nicholas leaped a distance of 14.12 m to earn a ninth-place finish.

William Cosby turned in a time of 1:07.92 in the 500 m Championships, collecting a 13th place finish for the sophomore.

In the men's side of the relays, the Bethune-Cookman (relay composed of Chris Jackson, Eric Cray, Martin Embry, and Marcell Keeling) 4 x 400 m team finished 12th with a total time of 3:21.66.

Next week is a big one for the Wildcat Track Team, as they head to Landover, Md. for the MEAC Indoor Track Championships, and are anticipating an excellent team performance against the other MEAC teams.
