Daytona Beach, Fla. - Second-year Bethune-Cookman track & field head coach Garfield Ellenwood has announced the signing of Jordon Manns to the B-CU Wildcats family on Tuesday afternoon.

Ellenwood, striving to make B-CU into a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship contender, continued his national recruiting efforts over the weekend with the signing of the Rochester, N.Y. native who has raised national eyes since running track a few years back.

Manns comes to B-CU as a recent graduate of Lyndonville High School where he won the state and federation titles in the 100 and 200 meters for Division II.

"I am very excited to have someone of this caliber joining our team," exclaims Coach Ellenwood. "Jordon has a wealth of untapped talent, and we can't wait to get him here and compete for B-CU."

Manns exploded onto the scene, winning the state title in the 100 (10.56 seconds) and 200 meters (21.84) in Division II. Both of his state-best times were considerably faster than those of his Division I counterparts, who run for bigger schools than Lyndonville.

"Jordon is going to be a great addition to our sprint group that I am developing," admitted Coach Ellenwood. "As a Rochester native, myself, I am truly excited to work with Jordon. I hope that I am able to guide him to achieve the success I had and more on the NCAA level."
