Wildcats Lead Coppin State, 8-4, Into Rain Delay; Play Resumes 8 AM ThursdayAfter delaying today's start at the MEAC Baseball Championships, the weather acted up again late in Bethune-Cookman's game versus Coppin State. The game initially was delayed for a lightning warning, but the skies opened up into a downpour for 45 minutes, causing some flooding at the field. Rayan Gonzalez Named MEAC Pitcher of the Year; Four Make 1st Team All-MEACThe Arecibo, Puerto Rico native, Gonzalez recorded a 2.16 ERA and was second in the conference with eight wins (8-1). In 13 appearances, the B-CU senior was also second in the MEAC with 72 strikeouts. In total, Gonzalez pitched 79.1 innings, allowing 24 runs, 19 earned runs and 17 walks, only surrendering seven total extra-base hits, with opponents batting .235 against him. [+] 5/12/12
