Has worked extremely hard in the Wildcat Athletic Performance Center in order to lose weight and gain muscle mass for an already big body ... Has great hands, and can catch almost anything coming his way in the form of a pass from the guards ... Should fight for a starting position right at the beginning of the season at the center position ... Sat out last year (2005-06) due to transfer rules, but has dropped weight and is ready to play extremely hard this season.

Currently majoring in Physical Education (Recreation) at Bethune-Cookman College ... Chose B-CC over many other schools because it gave him a great chance to play basketball and get a college education while playing for Cliff Reed ... Transferred to B-CC from Trinidad Community College in Colorado ... Spends his summers coaching youth basketball and helping out kids in any way possible ... Says his interesting hobbies are playing chess and dominos ... Named as an All-American Honorable Mention and Top 5 in Denver in high school ... While in high school in New York, Nelson was selected as a Top 20 player in New York state, and Top 10 in the city.
