Montez M. Robinson begins his first season at Bethune-Cookman as an assistant coach. Robinson, 31, comes to B-CU after a six-year stint at Kennesaw State (Ga.) where he helped in that program's transition from Division II to Division I. Prior to that, he was a talent scout for Ken Littlefield Basketball Inc., where he also assisted in running the summer camp operations. He began his career as an assistant coach at Truett-McConnell Junior College in Cleveland, Georgia, where he helped a team that won eight games in 2001 improve to a 26-win team in 2002 and a 20-game winner in 2003. Robinson's collegiate playing career began at Kemper Military College in Booneville, Missouri where he was a captain and a two-year starter. He then transferred to North Georgia State, where he was a two-year starter and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Coach Robinson is married to the former Ms. Leah Hornbuckle. They have one daughter, Tezlyn, who will be two in March 2012. |
