Coach Reed On:

#32 Alexander Starling: "He is our heart and soul. Alexander epitomizes Coach Reed and my style of play - with hard work and in-your-face defense. Never intimidated and he out works everybody and he rebounds and defends very well. Last year the experience playing and starting all year will pay huge dividends this season. His improvement offensively and in all areas makes us a better team. Along with C.J . - he is a co-captain and team leader for us."

Born Feb. 6, 1989 in Miami, Florida

Mother: Jennifer Starling

Brother Michael Brown 24, Shaqueevia Lumpkin 29

Why did you choose B-CU? "I chose B-CU because I felt it could immediately make an impact and help mold the basketball program into a winning program. Being a competitor, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to play for Coach Reed. He challenges us on and off the court preparing us every day for life after basketball."

If You Were Putting Together a 5-on-5 pickup game of any basketball players in the world - who would be your teammates (not any current B-CU Players). "Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, and Kevin Garnett. I'm a competitor , with four elite competitors like these I'll be sure to win the competition. And also take in a lot of knowledge about the game of basketball."

Who is one of the most influential people in your life and why? "My Mother. Having been a single Mother of 3, I saw my Mother go through many tough times. During those tough times she always kept her head up with a positive attitude. Her resilience has much to do with the man I am today."

After B-CU? "I hope to play professionally here in the U/S. or overseas. Also to start my own business."
