Michael Williams II enters into his fourth year with the Bethune-Cookman University basketball program as an assistant coach. After serving as a graduate assistant, Williams was hired as a full-time staff member during the summer of 2007.

Williams is no stranger to the B-CU basketball scene as he was a stellar four-year letter winner for the Wildcats from 2002-06. While at Bethune-Cookman, Williams was a first team All-MEAC selection, as well as being named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference inaugural Defensive Player of the Year in 2005-06. He has stamped his name along withsome of the best at Bethune-Cookman throughout the history books, including being in the Top 10 for blocks, field goal percentage and steals. In fact, Williams is the all-time Division I leader at B-CU in steals. Williams is B-CU's 4th all-time leading rebounder with over 700 career rebounds. And he is 20th in career scoring with over 1,000 points as a Wildcat.

Williams is a graduate of Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta, Ga. While at Mays, Williams was a standout four-year player including leading the Raiders to their first-ever State Championship game appearance. Alongside brother Jeff Newton (now with the Osaka Evessa in Japan)--and former Indiana Hoosier All-American, Williams also helped the Raiders to a 23-7 record in his freshman season. That was followed up by a phenomenal 25-5 mark in his junior campaign--the State Championship runner-up season.

Williams has another brother, Desmond, who played at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Ga. Michael Williams is a 2007 graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, majoring in Business Administration. Williams enjoys the company of his son, Mykel Joseph,(4).
