The 2009-2010 Cage 'Cats made school history with their back-to-back winning seasons (17-16, the past two years) - the first time ever for the men's basketball program in NCAA Division I play (dating back to the 1979-80 season joining the MEAC Conference).

MEAC Conference first team player C. J. Reed joins his Dad, Head Coach Cliff Reed, on the B-CU all-time top 20 scoring list and also the career 1,000 point club - a rare accomplishment in NCAA Division I basketball. C. J. Reed now has 1,015 career points in two seasons and will be a main factor in the upcoming two seasons to close his career second on the all-time lists behind B-CU career point scorer John Cheney (over 3,000 career points in the 50's for the Hall of Famer who was best know for his years at Temple University head coach).

C.J. Reed has developed into a team leader and key player and team leader on and off the court. A student-athlete with numerous accomplishments the past two seasons including MEAC "Rookie of the Year" and two All-MEAC Tournament team performances and two regular season awards.  He ranked among the national leaders in many offensive categories and his "iron man" status and 38 minutes played per game ranks among the NCAA's finest.

Coach Cliff Reed On His 2009-2010 Wildcats:

"We've put together back-to-back winning seasons in Division I for the first time ever for the school since 1980 and it is an accomplishment that our players and coaching staff should be proud of. We work very hard and the success is a testiment to our players and their work ethic. We've got good kids in the program.  The seniors (Tyrel Adams, Jarrell Thomas, Kene Anusionwu) were team leaders and combined with the many young players we have (freshman and sophomores). My hat goes off to the seniors. They were outstanding for us the past two years."

"I am elated with the effort and the direction of our program and players. We have a great nucleus returning and if we play with the heart of a champion that we did tonight (vs. Delaware State last week in the season final game), especially in the second half - we will continue to win a lot of games and be in contention for championships."

"We need to take the next step and we will add some pieces to the puzzle (in recruiting) to join C.J. (Reed) and Alex (Alexander Starling) and the young players (four freshman played prominent roles in 2009-2010) - Aric Miller, Kevin Dukes, Javoris Bryant, and Antroine Williford. Junior Albert Abrahams, and Sophomore Stanley Elliott played well for us and we need them to keep improving and make that next step to compete for the MEAC championship."

The Wildcats and Coach Reed will release player signings and the 2010-2011 schedule in the month of June as the class room and recruiting will be featured by the Cage 'Cats in the upcoming off-season.
