By Dan Ryan DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Kickoff time is rapidly approaching and here's Bethune-Cookman University football coach Brian Jenkins saying he doesn't know who his starting quarterback will be when the Wildcats host Edward Waters College at Municipal Stadium. Relax. Even if this is coachspeak, Jenkins actually thinks it's a good thing to have it come down to a gametime decision between Matthew Johnson, Jackie Wilson, Anthony Jordan and Troy Dannehower. "They've all been battling," Jenkins said. "Competition breeds winning and they've all done a good job of directing the team." Johnson is the lone returning QB. The senior compiled 846 total yards last season. It's the first game of the Jenkins era, and the former Rutgers assistant will be paying just as much attention to how the Wildcats are performing than the actual scoreboard. Edward Waters (0-1) lost at Brevard College last weekend. "I want us to execute in every phase," Jenkins said. "I want us to play disciplined, hard-nosed football." Game time is 4 p.m., but B-CU officials are encouraging all fans to arrive as early as possible. Those arriving by 2 p.m. can participate in the "Wildcat Walk" where the team walks through a crowd of fans after arriving at the stadium. Tailgating opportunities and a joint pep rally will also take place.
