Written By Melanie Cheatham (386) 481-2278 - Men’s Tennis Drops Home Match To Georgia Southern 7-0 Daytona Beach, Fla. - Despite winning one of the doubles matches, the Wildcats men's tennis team got off to a slow start in singles competition against the Georgia Southern University Eagles on Monday, February 8, falling 7-0. Georgia Southern took an early lead in two of the three doubles matches, but the Wildcats fought back and won a match with a victory at the No. 2 spot. Greg Streat and Cristian Cruz defeated Jayraj Jadeja and Justin Flynn, 8-6. Freshman Kip Jackson was the only Wildcat to win his first set. Jackson fought hard, but was eventually beaten by Edio Castanhel 4-6, 6-2, (10-7). The ‘Cats loss puts B-CU at 0-3 this season. The Wildcats next home match is scheduled for February 19 as they take on College of Charleston at City Island Tennis Center, 2 p.m.
