Freshman Season (2010-11): Named MEAC Rookie of the Week on December 20...Appeared in 27 games, starting in two at guard...Averaged 1.7 points and rebounds...Saw 31 minutes of action at Georgia State...Scored season-high 10 points against Coppin State (2/5/11)...Had 6 rebounds against Charleston (11/19/10) and 5 at South Carolina State (1/29/11)...Also tallied 3 assists at SCSU.
High School: Played three-guard at Clear Brook High School in Houston, Texas...In 09-10,Kiara averaged 10.0 points, 4.3 rebound, and 1.8 steals per game...Named to the All-District first team as a senior and junior, as a leader on the 16-11 CBHS team, and was a guard/forward on the 2007 CBHS team that was Co-Champs in District 24-5A...As a freshman, Kiara was named honorable mention All-District.
Personal: The daughter of George and Shari Redmon, Kiara was born October 29, 1991 in Houston, Texas...Majoring in Biology, Kiara wants to use her B-CU degree to become a Pediatrician...Chose B-CU over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Alabama-Birmingham, Santa Clara, UMKC, and San Diego, because, "I loved the idea of going to a historically black college with such a proud history and tradition"...Graduating high school Cum Laude, Kiara was a notable student, earning Academic Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program Scholar...She was also involved on campus as the Student Council Vice President (and class Vice President her freshman, sophomore, and junior years), and also on the campus improvement committee, City of Houston Youth Advisory Council...Committed to community service, serving food to the homeless at George R. Brown Audio/Video Ministry at Victorious Living Christian Center and Peer Assisting Leadership Skills Program...Her father played football at Stephen F. Austin 1983-87,and her cousin, Henry Bugat just wrapped up his basketball playing career at Baylor in 2009...While at B-CU, her athletic goal is to win a MEAC Championship.
