The Hemingway, South Carolina, Charmaine Wilson comes into her sixth season as an Assistant Coach of the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats basketball Team. Wilson has has been solid in assisting the program transition, following also being an assistant for four seasons under Francis Simmons and continued that role in the first season under Head Coach Vanessa Inge. Now in her second year under Inge, Wilson was a large part of the success that B-CU saw last season, winning more games than the previous two seasons combined.

Wilson is a graduate of South Carolina State University and earned a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Business while playing basketball for the Lady Bulldogs from 1995-1998. During her tenure, she earned such awards as Best Hustle, Most Improved, in addition to being named the team captain for all three years she played.

After completing her education at SCSU, she worked for the South Carolina Employment Security Commission from

1999-2004, while also becoming a part-time assistant at Allen University from 1999-2001. In 2001 she was named the Head Coach of Allen for one season, making school history as the school's first men's or women's coach to win a tournament game in the Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (EIAC).

In addition to her collegiate experience, Wilson has also volunteered her services to the youth of the community. She has spent her time at Hemingway High School in South Carolina helping in basketball camps for girls, ages 10-18.

Knowing her passion has always been for basketball, Wilson took the full-time position of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for B-CU in 2004. Her duties for the Lady Wildcats include her role as the first assistant, making team travel arrangements, coaching on the floor, recruiting new athletes, and assisting Head Coach Inge in daily administrative responsibilities.

Coach Wilson is single and resides in Port Orange, Florida.
