DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - After nine straight losses, the Lady Wildcats got back into the win column on Wednesday in a double-overtime thriller with North Florida. At 2-9, Kent State (1-8) couldn’t have come along on the schedule at a better time, as the Lady Wildcats look to build some consistency and confidence on the floor now that they are putting together the chemistry.

Notes on B-CU: The Lady Wildcats have gotten strong performances the past two games from Jasmine Elum, with 34 points the past two times out. Elum leads the team with 14.6 PPG. However, this could prove to be a big game in the post. Kent State only plays three total post players, one a walk-on, whereas B-CU has lots of options and a very familiar presence from Cleniece Roberts. Roberts averages 10.2 PPG and 7.2 RPG.

A Look at Kent State: The Golden Flashes have some familiar situations in this season. For starters, the short bench; KSU has ten total players, as opposed to B-CU’s 15, an issue that plagued the Lady Wildcats last season as injuries took their toll. A youth factor; KSU has six of ten players that are freshmen, not unfamiliar to B-CU, who currently hosts nine newcomers on the roster. A slump; after winning game three, KSU has logged a seven-game losing streak thus far in 2011-12.

Kent State is led Trisha Krewson and Itziar Llobet, with 12.1 and 10.9 points per game respectively. Krewson also tops the Golden Flashes on the boards with 6.4 RPG, along with 13 steals.

Next up for B-CU: The Lady Wildcats travel to Georgia State for a January 2 matchup with the Panthers.
