NORFOLK, Va. –Bethune-Cookman’s Jazmin Sutherland took individual honors at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division's second weekend of competition. The senior from Brooklyn averaged 189.6 in her five games to lead all competitors and also posted the highest individual game with a 221. She finished with a 213. Junior Melanie Mitchell averaged 183.5 in her four appearances, including a 201 in her third game. Ypretycia Crumity showed improvement as she finished with a 159 average that included a high game of 184. “We had some tremendous improvement from our first week,” said B-CU coach Tony O’Neal. “We had some great individual performances, we just haven’t come together as a team." After a 2-6 team record in the opening weekend, B-CU settled for a 3-7 mark in week two, leaving them in a battle with North Carolina A&T for the Southern Division’s fourth and final seed into the MEAC championship beginning March 18 in Greensboro, N.C. “We’re getting better each outing,” O'Neal said. The next Southern Divisional will be January 8-9 in Tallahassee.
