Jacksonville, Fla. - The Bethune-Cookman University women's golf team finished an extraordinary two-day event this week with a tie for second place in the North/South Collegiate hosted by Butler University. The event took place at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Course in Jacksonville, Fla. from Mar. 12-13.

B-CU earned their second Top-five finish of the spring season with a tie for second place as they finished alongside the University of Northern Iowa. Jacksonville University finished just four strokes ahead of the `Cats to leas the pack and collect first place honors.

B-CU freshman Matilda Creime shot a team-best 152 for the event. Creime finished the first day with a 73, followed by a 79 on the second day.

A note for the event was the star sophomore Fern Grimshaw was unavailable for the tournament with an injury to her hand.

Junior Becky Dowell shot an 80 on the first day with an unfamiliar score, but bounced back nicely to shoot a 74 in the second round.

Also playing well for the Wildcats was Ebonie Burgess with a two-day total of 156 (77 / 78).

B-CU women's golf will be back in action on Mar. 30 when they travel to Miami, Fla. for a tournament hosted by the University of Miami.
