Wildcat Softball Wraps Stetson Invitational With a Win Over ASU, 2-0
 
After a challenging Saturday at the Stetson Invitational, the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman softball headed out to Patricia Wilson Field to wrap up the tournament with the consolation game matchup. The seeding put B-CU back into a matchup with Appalachian State, which had grabbed a win off B-CU, Saturday night, at the hands of four B-CU errors in the final inning. In today's game, B-CU controlled the game defensively and had one strong offensive inning to take the lead and hold onto it, shutting out ASU 2-0.

Wildcat Softball Downed in Both Games of Stetson Invitational Day Two
 
The Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman softball returned to play, Saturday, at the Stetson Invitational at Patricia Wilson Field. Despite turning in a solid performance overall, two innings made all the difference, translating into two losses for the Wildcats. First up, a rematch with Maine looked promising in a true slugfest, featuring six home runs in the game. With the game tied up in the fourth, UM fired off four runs to take a commanding lead, winning 8-4. Against Appalachian State, a defensive battle ensued, with B-CU leading up to the top of the seventh, but four errors in the final stretch pushed ASU up 7-2 for the win.

B-CU Softball Splits Games to Open Stetson Invitational
Fresh of a solid week of home games, Wildcat Softball took their game just down the road, to open play at the Stetson Invitational. The Wildcats opened the day with the University of Maine, hitting big in the top of the fifth inning to overcome the Black Bears, 4-1. In the day's final game, B-CU couldn't contain Stetson's hitting attack, falling 10-3. [+]

Wildcat Softball Clips BC Eagles, 5-2
The Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman softball finally got their rematch with the Boston College Eagles. The teams last met in DeLand for the Hatter Classic, with BC driving in four runs in the sixth to take the game, in spite of solid defense by B-CU all around. Today's game was originally scheduled at the team's home opener, but weather did not permit. The opening of the game made a big challenge for the Wildcats; BC hitting big early, but B-CU kept composure and responded in a big way, claiming a lead and playing great defense to stay up for the win, 5-2. Wildcat Softball Splits Season Opener with Providence
On a chilly and breezy day for the Florida environment, the Providence College Friars may not have felt too much out of sorts, but with the weather shifts this winter, the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman Softball are all too familiar with these kinds of cold days. After getting rained out of Tuesday's first home double-header, today's matchup with Providence became B-CU's 2010 home opener. The Wildcats played quite well to open the home season, using a strong fourth inning burst to win 3-1. However, in game two, the Friars found their bats, hitting heavy in two innings to defeat B-CU, 9-4. [+]

Softball Home Opener with Boston College Cancelled Due to Weather
The Wildcats' Tuesday softball home opener with Boston Colllege has been cancelled, due to unexpected storms dropping heavy early morning rains, and backed up by a line of impending storms, for which the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory. The teams have set a rescheduled date for 2 p.m., Thursday, March 4, at Sunnyland Park. Although the original schedule was for a double header, the teams will play a single game in Thursday's rescheduling. [+]

B-CU Softball Falls Late to Albany, Boston College
After getting rained out for Saturday's games, the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman softball returned to play, Sunday, at the Hatter Classic. B-CU won both games Friday to tie for a lead in the tournament. Sunday's games featured a rematch with Albany and a big matchup with Atlantic Coast Conference foe, Boston College. The Wildcats held strong in each game, but their opponents found offensive strength late in each game to take late-inning leads, with UA winning 6-1, and BC winning 6-2. [+]
