Former B-CU standout Holly Bussey enters as her second season as a Bethune-Cookman University assistant softball coach. As a freshman, Bussey was a catcher and outfielder for the 2005 Wildcat team that registered the University's first-ever regular season victory over the University of Florida and would later parlay an at-large post-season berth into an NCAA Gainesville Region championship and an appearance in the NCAA Super Regional against Texas. She played shortstop her junior and senior years, compiling a team-best .414 batting average in 2007. She was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference all-tournament team in 2007 and 2008 and was an all-conference second team selection in 2007. She earned conference academic honors her junior and senior season. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from B-CU and was a fifth-year assistant coach in 2009. |
