Daytona Beach, Fla. - The Bethune-Cookman University women's tennis team wasted little time extending their winning streak back to two games today as they dismantled Lafayette University with a 7-0 decision at the City Island Tennis Complex in Daytona Beach, Fla.

After the Wildcats had their 10-match winning streak snapped last week by conference foe South Carolina State, B-CU (12-2) has bounced back nicely with a two-match winning streak against both Lafayette and Presbyterian.

Playing in their first home match of the 2007 season, the `Cats got off to a quick 1-0 lead by sweeping all three positions in the doubles event.

Olga Ruislova and Kiara Powell were dominant against Lafayette's team of Danielle Bailey and Ansley Scudder with an 8-0 victory at the No. 1 position. Ruislova and Powell improved to 11-2 on the season at the No. 1 position.

In singles play, B-CU star sophomore Kiara Powell kept her spring record looking good as she improved to 12-1 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lafayette's Ansley Scudder at the No. 3 position.

Monika Musilova stretched her winning streak out to 13 matches ... as well as keeping her sets record clean with a 6-0, 6-1 straight-sets win over Nancy Parker. Musilova has not lost a single set this season for the Wildcats at the No. 4 position.

Also looking good, as always, was No. 1 singles player Olga Ruislova with a 6-0, 6-11 win over Danielle Bailey. No. 2 singles player for B-CU, Lucia Polakova, also enjoyed a hard-fought 6-3, 6-1 win over Lafayette's Sarah Sykes.

At the No. 6 position, freshman Jeneice Ward broke her two-match losing streak with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Abby Wilkenfeld.
