Raleigh, N.C. - Bethune-Cookman University will advance to the MEAC Women's Tennis Tournament championship match for the second consecutive year after an impressive 4-0 win over Hampton University on Saturday at the Millbrook Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.

B-CU (21-3) had to fight to win the doubles point, but eventually two out of three sets to get the early 1-0 advantage in the match.

Senior Olga Ruislova and sophomore Kiara Powell continued their dominant doubles play at the No. 1 position for the Wildcats with an 8-6 win over Hampton's Katerina Jiskrova and Jana Korycankova. That was followed up by another 8-6 win in favor of B-CU as freshmen Monika Musilova and Jeneice Ward collected an 8-6 win over the Lady Pirates' Syreeta Thompson and Kelli Young at the No. 3 position.

Hampton won the No. 2 doubles set with an 8-6 score as Viviane Costa and Elena Besedova knocked back the rackets of B-CU's Valerie Kendrick and Lucia Polakova.

In the singles matches, Olga Ruislova earned a 7-5 win over HU's Elena Besedova at the No. 1 position. Besedova was forced to withdraw due to injury after the first set was complete.

The Wildcats kept on the pressure at the No. 2 position with a 6-0, 6-2 win in favor of senior Lucia Polakova as she breezed through Katerina Jiskrova.

Bethune-Cookman wrapped up their second win in as many days on the strength of a 6-0, 6-0 sweep for First Team All-MEAC member Monika Musilova as she blew by HU's Viviane Costa at the No. 4 position.

With the win today, the Wildcats will now take on two-time defending MEAC Champion South Carolina State tomorrow at 9:30 am back at the Millbrook Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C. These two teams met earlier in the year, with the Lady Bulldogs collecting a 5-2 win in Orangeburg, S.C.
