Kisya Killingsworth-Putney begins her first season as an assistant coach for Bethune-Cookman University volleyball.

Named Miss Florida Volleyball in 2003, Killingsworth-Putney led Pine Ridge HS to a state tournament berth her senior season before embarking on a standout career with the Gators.

During her playing career in Gainesville, Killingsworth-Putney earned All-Southeast Conference and All-American Honors as Florida won the SEC and appeared in the NCAA Regionals all four years.

She's one of just five players in UF school history with 1,000 kills and 300 blocks in her career and one of only 15 Gators to reach the 1,000-mark, and one of just 17 to record 300 blocks. She finished her career with more block solos (65) than any other UF player in the rally scoring era.

"I am very excited to have Kisya on board," said Isaac Rapheal, who is in his first year as Head Coach. "Her knowledge and background of the sport will play a huge role in our program. It is also exciting to have someone with her ties to the area. It will be great for our recruiting."

This is Killingsworth-Putney's first collegiate coaching assignment. One of her roles will be developing the Lady Wildcats' middle hitters.
